Miracles of Jesus

Twenty-one wonders that show us who Jesus really is.

21 days · 10 min/day

Travel through twenty-one of the miracles Jesus performed in the Gospels, from turning water into wine to raising the dead. Each day your family will see how His power over sickness, nature, demons, and the grave points to the bigger rescue He came to bring. These are not just amazing stories — they are signs that Jesus is the Son of God who saves all who trust Him.

How to use this

Pick a time you already gather — dinner, or just before bed — and keep it there. The whole thing takes about ten minutes.

Each day

  1. Read the passage together. On a busy night, just read the memory verse — that counts.
  2. Read the short devotion out loud.
  3. Talk through the questions. Let everyone answer in their own words; there are no wrong answers.
  4. Say the memory verse together, and try to remember it tomorrow.
  • Take turns being the reader — let the kids have a night.
  • Missed a day or three? That’s okay. Pick the thread back up. It’s a rhythm, not a streak.
  1. Day 1

    Water to Wine

    John 2:1-11

At a wedding in Cana the wine ran out, and that was a big embarrassment for the family hosting the party. Quietly, without any fuss, Jesus turned ordinary water into the very best wine — His first miraculous sign. John tells us this 'revealed his glory,' showing the disciples who Jesus really is so they would believe in Him. The God who made the world is so generous that He cares about an ordinary family's joy, and He is even more generous in giving us a Savior we don't deserve.

    Talk about it

    • What does this first miracle show us about what Jesus is like?
    • Why do you think Jesus cared about something as everyday as a wedding running out of wine?
    • Where do you need to trust that Jesus is good and generous in your family this week?

    Memory verse · John 2:11

This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

  2. Day 2

    Healing the Official's Son

    John 4:46-54

A royal official traveled a long way to beg Jesus to heal his dying son. Jesus simply said, 'Go; your son will live,' and the man believed His word and started home — and at that very hour the boy got better. Jesus didn't have to be in the room or even see the child; His word alone had power across the miles. We don't get to see Jesus with our eyes either, but like that father we can take Him at His word and trust Him.

    Talk about it

    • What did the official have to do before he saw his son was healed?
    • How is trusting Jesus' words like what that father did?
    • When is it hard to trust God's promises before you can see them come true?

    Memory verse · John 4:50

Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.

  3. Day 3

    The Great Catch of Fish

    Luke 5:1-11

Peter and his friends had fished all night and caught nothing, but when Jesus told them to let down their nets again, they caught so many fish the nets began to break. Peter fell at Jesus' knees, suddenly aware that he was a sinful man standing before someone holy. Instead of pushing Peter away, Jesus said, 'Do not be afraid; from now on you will catch men,' and called these ordinary fishermen to follow Him. Jesus still meets ordinary people, forgives our sins, and invites us into His important work.

    Talk about it

    • Why do you think Peter felt afraid when he saw what Jesus could do?
    • What does it tell us that Jesus chose plain fishermen to follow Him?
    • What might it look like for our family to leave something behind to follow Jesus?

    Memory verse · Luke 5:10

and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.”

  4. Day 4

    Healing a Man with Leprosy

    Mark 1:40-45

A man with a serious skin disease came to Jesus, knowing that everyone else stayed far away from him. Filled with compassion, Jesus did the unthinkable — He reached out His hand and touched the man, then made him completely clean. Jesus is never afraid of our messes or the things that make us feel unwanted; He draws near. Just as He touched the man no one else would touch, Jesus came near to sinners like us to make us clean.

    Talk about it

    • How do you think the man felt to be touched instead of avoided?
    • What does Jesus' willingness to draw near tell us about His heart?
    • Who is someone lonely or left out that our family could show kindness to?

    Memory verse · Mark 1:41

Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”

  5. Day 5

    The Paralytic Through Roof

    Mark 2:1-12

Four friends were so determined to bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus that they dug through a roof to lower him down. But before Jesus healed the man's legs, He said something surprising: 'Son, your sins are forgiven.' The teachers grumbled, because only God can forgive sins — and that was exactly the point. By healing the man's body, Jesus proved He also has the authority to forgive, which is the deepest healing any of us could ever need.

    Talk about it

    • Why might Jesus have forgiven the man's sins before healing his body?
    • What do these friends teach us about helping each other get to Jesus?
    • Why is being forgiven by God even more important than being healthy?

    Memory verse · Mark 2:5

Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

  6. Day 6

    Healing at the Pool

    John 5:1-15

By a pool in Jerusalem lay a man who had been unable to walk for thirty-eight years. Jesus walked right up to him, asked if he wanted to be well, and then simply said, 'Get up, take up your bed, and walk' — and at once the man could. After all those years of waiting, Jesus saw him and changed everything with a word. No problem is too old or too stuck for Jesus, and He still seeks out people the world overlooks.

    Talk about it

    • How might thirty-eight years of waiting have made the man feel?
    • What does it mean that Jesus noticed and came to this one man?
    • Is there something you've been waiting on for a long time that you can bring to God?

    Memory verse · John 5:8

Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”

  7. Day 7

    The Withered Hand Healed

    Mark 3:1-6

In the synagogue Jesus saw a man with a shriveled hand, and some people were watching to see if He would dare to heal on the Sabbath. Jesus asked whether it is lawful to do good and save life on the Sabbath, then healed the man right in front of them. He cared more about loving and restoring people than about looking proper to the crowd. Jesus shows us that real obedience to God flows from a heart that loves people, not just from following rules to look good.

    Talk about it

    • Why do you think Jesus healed the man even though people were watching to criticize Him?
    • What is the difference between following rules and truly loving people?
    • How can our family do good for others, even when it isn't convenient?

    Memory verse · Mark 3:5

When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.

  8. Day 8

    The Centurion's Servant

    Matthew 8:5-13

A Roman soldier asked Jesus to heal his servant but said he wasn't worthy to have Jesus come under his roof — he believed Jesus could heal with just a word from a distance. Jesus was amazed and said He had not found such great faith in all of Israel. This soldier wasn't even part of God's people, yet he trusted Jesus completely. His story reminds us that faith, not where we come from, is what brings us to Jesus, and His invitation is for people from every nation.

    Talk about it

    • What surprised Jesus about the centurion?
    • Why do you think Jesus pointed out this man's faith to the crowd?
    • What would it look like for you to trust Jesus' word even when you can't see Him?

    Memory verse · Matthew 8:10

When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.

  9. Day 9

    Raising the Widow's Son

    Luke 7:11-17

Jesus came upon a funeral for a young man — the only son of a widow who had already lost her husband. His heart went out to her, and gently He said, 'Do not weep,' then touched the open coffin and told the young man to get up, and he did. The crowd was filled with awe, knowing God had visited His people. Even death cannot stand against Jesus, and He meets the brokenhearted with tender compassion.

    Talk about it

    • What does it tell us that Jesus felt compassion for the grieving mother?
    • How would you feel if you saw Jesus bring someone back to life?
    • How can our family comfort people who are sad or hurting?

    Memory verse · Luke 7:13

When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, “Don’t cry.”

  10. Day 10

    Calming the Storm

    Mark 4:35-41

A fierce storm crashed over the boat while Jesus slept, and the terrified disciples woke Him, sure they would drown. Jesus stood up, said, 'Peace! Be still!' and instantly the wind and waves obeyed Him. The disciples were left wondering, 'Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?' The answer is wonderful: Jesus is the Lord over all creation, and we can trust Him even when life feels stormy and out of control.

    Talk about it

    • Why were the disciples so amazed after Jesus calmed the storm?
    • What 'storms' do you face that feel too big to handle?
    • How does knowing Jesus rules over everything help you feel less afraid?

    Memory verse · Mark 4:39

He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

  11. Day 11

    The Demon-Possessed Man

    Mark 5:1-20

A man lived among the tombs, controlled by evil spirits so strong that no chains could hold him. With a word, Jesus set him free, and soon the man was sitting calmly, dressed and in his right mind. Jesus then sent him home to tell his family how much the Lord had done for him. No darkness is too strong for Jesus, and the people He rescues become people who share His good news with others.

    Talk about it

    • How did this man's life change after he met Jesus?
    • What does this story show us about Jesus' power over evil?
    • What is one thing Jesus has done that our family could tell others about?

    Memory verse · Mark 5:19

He didn’t allow him, but said to him, “Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you.”

  12. Day 12

    Jairus' Daughter

    Mark 5:21-43

Jairus begged Jesus to heal his dying daughter, but on the way the sad news came that the little girl had already died. Jesus told him, 'Do not fear, only believe,' then went to the girl, took her by the hand, and gently said, 'Little girl, get up,' and she did. Along the way a sick woman was also healed just by touching Jesus in faith. Even when all hope seems gone, Jesus is the one who holds life and death in His hands, and He calls us simply to keep believing.

    Talk about it

    • What did Jesus tell Jairus to do even after the sad news came?
    • How do both the woman and Jairus show us what trusting Jesus looks like?
    • When you feel afraid, what would it look like to 'only believe'?

    Memory verse · Mark 5:36

But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Don’t be afraid, only believe.”

  13. Day 13

    Feeding the 5,000

    John 6:1-14

A huge crowd was hungry, and all the disciples could find was one boy's lunch of five loaves and two fish. Jesus gave thanks, broke the bread, and somehow there was more than enough for everyone, with twelve baskets left over. He took something small and made it feed thousands. Jesus loves to use what we offer Him — even something tiny — and He can provide for our needs in ways we never expected.

    Talk about it

    • What did Jesus do with the boy's small lunch?
    • How does this miracle show that Jesus can use even little things we give Him?
    • What 'small' thing could you offer to Jesus to use for good?

    Memory verse · John 6:11

Jesus took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down; likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.

  14. Day 14

    Walking on Water

    Matthew 14:22-33

In the middle of a windy night, the disciples saw Jesus walking toward them on the water. Peter stepped out and walked too, but when he looked at the waves instead of Jesus, he began to sink and cried, 'Lord, save me!' — and Jesus immediately reached out and caught him. When we take our eyes off Jesus and stare at our fears, we start to sink, but the moment we call to Him, His hand is right there. Those in the boat worshiped Him, saying, 'Truly you are the Son of God.'

    Talk about it

    • What happened when Peter looked at the wind instead of at Jesus?
    • What does it mean for us to keep our eyes on Jesus?
    • What fear do you need to bring to Jesus by praying, 'Lord, save me'?

    Memory verse · Matthew 14:31

Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

  15. Day 15

    The Syrophoenician's Daughter

    Mark 7:24-30

A foreign mother came to Jesus, desperate for her daughter to be freed from an evil spirit. Even when the conversation seemed to test her, she humbly and boldly kept trusting Jesus, and He told her that her daughter was healed. Her faith was beautiful because she would not give up on Jesus' mercy. God welcomes everyone who comes to Him in humble faith, no matter where they are from, and He delights to answer the prayers of trusting parents.

    Talk about it

    • How did this mother keep trusting Jesus even when it was hard?
    • What does her story teach us about not giving up in prayer?
    • Who is someone you can keep praying for, even if the answer takes time?

    Memory verse · Mark 7:29

He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

  16. Day 16

    Healing the Deaf Man

    Mark 7:31-37

People brought Jesus a man who could not hear and could barely speak. Jesus took him aside privately, gently touched his ears and tongue, looked up to heaven, sighed, and said, 'Ephphatha' — that is, 'Be opened' — and the man could hear and speak clearly. The crowd was overwhelmed and said, 'He has done all things well.' Jesus does everything well, with tenderness and care, opening what is closed in us so we can hear and praise Him.

    Talk about it

    • Why do you think Jesus took the man away from the crowd to heal him?
    • What does the crowd's words, 'He has done all things well,' tell us about Jesus?
    • How can we use our ears and mouths this week to listen to God and praise Him?

    Memory verse · Mark 7:37

They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!”

  17. Day 17

    Feeding the 4,000

    Mark 8:1-10

Once again a large crowd had been with Jesus for days and had nothing to eat, and He had compassion on them. With only seven loaves and a few fish, Jesus gave thanks and fed four thousand people, with baskets of food to spare. Even though His followers had seen Him feed a crowd before, Jesus patiently provided again. He never grows tired of caring for His people, and He reminds us we can bring even our daily needs to Him.

    Talk about it

    • Why do you think Mark tells us Jesus had compassion on the hungry crowd?
    • What does it show that Jesus provided food a second time?
    • What everyday needs can our family thank God for and trust Him with?

    Memory verse · Mark 8:2

“I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.

  18. Day 18

    The Man Born Blind

    John 9:1-41

Jesus healed a man who had been blind since birth, and the man slowly came to see far more than colors and faces — he came to see who Jesus truly is. When asked, he simply said, 'One thing I know, that though I was blind, now I see.' By the end he worshiped Jesus as Lord, while others who thought they could see stayed blind to the truth. Jesus opens not only our eyes but our hearts, helping us truly see and trust Him as the Son of God.

    Talk about it

    • What did the healed man come to understand about Jesus by the end?
    • What is the difference between seeing with our eyes and seeing who Jesus really is?
    • How can we ask Jesus to help us 'see' Him more clearly?

    Memory verse · John 9:25

He therefore answered, “I don’t know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: that though I was blind, now I see.”

  19. Day 19

    The Crippled Woman

    Luke 13:10-17

A woman had been bent over for eighteen long years, unable to stand up straight. Jesus saw her, called her over, and said, 'Woman, you are freed from your disability,' and at once she straightened up and praised God. He called her a daughter of Abraham, treating her with dignity and love when others would have passed her by. Jesus sees the people the world ignores, sets them free, and lifts up the ones who have been weighed down.

    Talk about it

    • How do you think the woman felt when she could finally stand up straight?
    • What does it mean that Jesus 'saw' her and called her over?
    • Who around us might feel overlooked, and how could we help them feel seen?

    Memory verse · Luke 13:12

When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”

  20. Day 20

    Raising of Lazarus

    John 11:1-44

When Jesus' friend Lazarus died, Jesus wept with the grieving family, showing how deeply He loves us. Then He stood at the tomb and called out, 'Lazarus, come out!' — and the man who had been dead four days walked out alive. Before the miracle, Jesus said something amazing: 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.' This points us to the greatest hope of all: because Jesus conquered death, everyone who trusts Him will live forever with Him.

    Talk about it

    • What does it mean to you that Jesus cried at His friend's tomb?
    • How does Jesus calling Himself 'the resurrection and the life' give us hope?
    • How might believing this change the way we think about death?

    Memory verse · John 11:25

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.

  21. Day 21

    Ten Lepers Healed

    Luke 17:11-19

Ten men with leprosy called out to Jesus for mercy, and as they obeyed His word they were all healed along the way. But only one came back — and a foreigner at that — falling at Jesus' feet to thank Him and praise God. Jesus asked where the other nine were, gently reminding us how easy it is to receive good gifts and forget to say thank you. As we finish this journey through Jesus' miracles, may our family be like that one grateful man, always returning to thank and worship the Lord who saves us.

    Talk about it

    • Why do you think only one of the ten came back to thank Jesus?
    • What are some of God's gifts we sometimes forget to thank Him for?
    • How can our family build a habit of returning to God with thankful hearts?

    Memory verse · Luke 17:15

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.
